MOVINGUI (Distemonanthus benthamianus)

Movingui (yellow silk tree, golden tree) grows in the equatorial forests of Afrika and its wood is deep yellow in color, dense and silky in texture. It is a rare and exotic species of wood that is easy to process.

ZEBRA TREE (Microberlinia bisulcata)

The zebra tree (zebrano) is named after the zebra striped pattern. The wood species is very exotic and grows mainly in Central Africa. Due to its decorative pattern, zebra wood is highly valued in interior design, for example zebra wood is used in the interior design of Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz cars.

PADOUK (Pterocarpus soyauxii)

Padouk (African winged fruit) is an exotic deciduous tree that grows mainly in Nigeria, Congo and Angola. The type of wood is a beautiful dark red color and is valued in the manufacture of musical instruments (drums, acoustic guitars) and furniture. The leaves of the Padouk are edible and contain a lot of vitamin C.

OAK (Quercus robur)

Oak is valued primarily for its strength and durability. In the case of oak, it is noteworthy that when other tree species lose much of their value when soaked in water, the oak becomes more and more valuable in the water – the color of the oak becomes black and the beautiful pattern becomes more visible. Oak grows widely in both Europe and North America. Oak wood is used to build bridges and boats, to produce furniture and parquet, and oak barrels have become famous all over the world.

ROSEWOOD (Dalbergia spruceana)

Rosewood has yellowish-brown – dark brown or reddish-brown – dark brown spots. It is a valuable and exotic type of wood, which has become known for the production of both quality furniture and musical instruments (acoustic guitars) for its beautiful pattern and strength. Rosewood grows in Bolivia and Brazil.

ASH WOOD (Fraxinus excelsior)

Ash wood is characterized by a light wood grain pattern and strength. Ash wood is stronger than oak wood. The ash wood grows in both Europe and America, and its wood is used to make both furniture and parquet.

AMERICAN WALNUT (Juglans)

Walnut trees grow naturally in both Europe and North America. Most of the wood used in Estonia comes from North America. It is a very beautiful wood with unique patterns and tones. Walnut wood is durable, has good processability and is used in the production of quality products (chests of drawers, tables, worktops).

BIRCH (Betula)

The birch is creamy white in tone and usually lacks a prominent wood pattern. Birch is one of the most common tree species in Estonia. Elsewhere in the world, however, light European birches are considered a rare tree species. Widely used in both interior decoration and furniture industry. Birch becomes a good veneer and it is also suitable for flooring as a parquet or floorboard.

EBONY WOOD (Diospyros)

Nowadays, ebony wood is considered to be wood obtained from species of the Diospyros family.The wood colors of these species are different – there are black, dark brown, grayish, greenish, reddish and striped wood. Ebony wood is one of the most valuable wood species in the world. The wood is very strong, heavy and therefore one of the few tree species that does not stay afloat. Ebony wood is difficult to process, but at the same time it is well subjected to sanding and polishing, and therefore it is possible to process the wood almost to high gloss. Species belonging to the Diospyros family grow mainly in West Africa and Southeast Asia.

POPLAR (Populus)

The poplar belongs to the willow family. Poplars are common throughout the Northern Hemisphere and there are about 35 species in total. Poplar is known as a fast growing and light-loving tree. Widely used in the construction of sauna platforms, because poplar wood does not get hotter. Heat treatment makes wood more durable, moisture resistant and stable.
